What is it?
SLU-PP-332 is a small molecule that activates a group of receptors in cells responsible for switching on the gene programmes that normally require aerobic exercise to activate. It is being investigated as an “exercise in a pill” concept in preclinical research. All current findings are from animal and cell studies.

Key Benefits (from research)

– Mimics aerobic exercise at the gene level – The compound activates the same gene programme in muscle as actual treadmill running, including increased oxidative muscle fibres.

– Reduces fat and improves metabolism – Animal studies showed increased energy expenditure, reduced fat mass, smaller fat cells, and improved insulin sensitivity without changes in food intake.

– Improves heart function – Preclinical heart failure studies showed improved ejection fraction, reduced scarring, and better survival in pressure-overload heart failure models.

– Protects against muscle loss – Cell studies in sedentary muscle tissue showed the compound reduced oxidative stress markers and supported muscle cell formation relevant to sarcopenia research.

– Protects the kidneys — Animal studies document reduced kidney inflammation and improved mitochondrial function in ageing kidney models.

– Active development programme – A successor compound (SLU-PP-915) with better oral absorption has been developed and is showing similar or superior results in early research.

Quick Q&A

What is SLU-PP-332 used for in research?
It is studied as a small molecule that triggers the exercise gene programme in muscle and heart cells, investigated for metabolic disease, heart failure, and sarcopenia.

Is it approved for people?
No – no human trials have been published. It is sold for laboratory research only.

Important Notice
Sold for laboratory research only. Not for human use. Must be 18+.

More information
SLU-PP-322 is a pan-agonist of the oestrogen-related receptors alpha, delta, and gamma (ERRa/d/g). These orphan nuclear receptors regulate mitochondrial biogenesis and oxidative metabolism. In preclinical studies, SLU-PP-322 has demonstrated the ability to activate exercise-mimetic gene programmes, improving cardiac function and metabolic endurance in animal models. For laboratory research use only.
